General Information
Residence Schuler is a vacation rental apartment house with garden and open view to the sea and Mount Etna, located on a small hill in a residential area in Taormina, only 4 minutes walking distance from central Corso Umberto (pedestrian area of Taormina) and 3 minutes only from the supermarket and the nearest restaurants.
Five spacious apartments for two up to seven persons, fully furnished, with independent entrance, central heating, air conditioning, bathrooms with bathtub or shower, kitchen, large living room, terrace with flowers or garden. Each apartment is provided with safe, telephone, wi-fi, coffee maker, ironing equipment and TV (satellite connection to BBC World, CNN, ZDF, ARD).
Apartment type “A” for 2 persons has a size of 41 sq.mt. (441 sq. ft.) and a terrace of 35 sq.mt. (377 sq. ft.). It consists of: 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom, a living room, a small kitchen and a big terrace over viewing the sea and Mt. Etna. It is provided with satellite TV, safe, telephone, Wi-fi, air condition, heating, ironing equipment and coffee maker.

Location Description
On your arrival in Taormina, you will feel the magical, mythic atmosphere all around which has enchanted visitors from all over the world for years and years. Settled on a hill 200 mt. above the sea level, Taormina dominates the coast line with its beaches, facing the magnificent Mount Etna, the highest European active volcano which often offers unexpected spectacular eruptions.
Taormina was first advertised by a trio of German artists: in 1787 J.W.Goethe discovered the beauties of Sicily and, in particular, of Taormina. He wrote the world known novel "Italian Journey", in which he describes the land and its people and pronounced Taormina a "patch of paradise". The German painter Otto Geleng gave with his paintings the vision of the magical Mediterranean landscape of Taormina. His contemporary, the young Prussian photographer Wilhelm von Gloeden settled down in 1880 and made Taormina famous to all conservative European cultural clubs with his artistic portraits of nude shepherd boys with the volcano Etna on the backstage.
Since the opening of the first hotel in 1874, Taormina has become one of the world top touristic destinations where visitors can experience a perfect combination of old times charming atmosphere, preservation of history and culture, an elegant and lively way of life to be enjoyed in relaxing walks through the old town pedestrian areas, which is only 4 minutes walking distance from the apartments.
During the summer the ancient Greek Theatre becomes an alive stage where international cultural events take place, like: theatre, classical and modern music, opera and many other happenings, where you can enjoy the entertainment offered by international known artists.
For those looking for the world known Sicilian cuisine, the town offers a wide choice of restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias, pastry-shops, bars, cafes, pubs, for any taste and budget.
Nightlife offers a variety of possibilities. You can just enjoy strolling around Corso Umberto pedestrian area having an ice cream sitting at the bar in the plaza, while listening to live music, or enjoying a visit at the pub, or at the wine bar, or discothèque.
If you just wish to enjoy the Mediterranean sea, there is a daily shuttle service to the various beaches of Taormina: the shuttle will take you down there and bring you back, leaving five minutes walking distance from the apartments.
If you wish during your stay to 'stay fit' there is the possibility to play tennis, in a close-by sport center, or jogg while discovering places and corners around the town, take great walks up and down hills or visit the Botanical Taormina Public Garden, also at a walking distance from the apartments.
